How to find EA backup codes
EA backup codes help you sign in from a new device if you cannot use your usual two-factor authentication method. To find them, sign in to your EA Account, open Security and Privacy, select Two-factor authentication, then choose View backup codes. Save them somewhere private before you need them.
What are EA backup codes?
They are fallback codes for EA Account sign-in when you cannot get a verification code from your authenticator app, text messages or email. They are different from an EA password, an email verification code and a game redemption code. EA recommends recording them in a safe place after setting up 2FA, while you can still access your account.
How do I get EA backup codes?
Sign in to the correct EA Account and open Security and Privacy → Two-factor authentication → View backup codes. If 2FA is off, turn it on and verify your chosen method first. These are account settings on EA's site, not a menu inside FC 27 Ultimate Team.
Sign in to your EA Account and open the Security and Privacy page.
Scroll to Two-factor authentication. If it is off, select Turn On, choose Email, Authenticator app or Text Message, and complete EA's verification prompt.
Select View backup codes. EA may ask you to verify your identity again before showing them.
Record the codes somewhere private. Do not post them in comments or send them to an unsolicited account.
What if I cannot see my backup codes?
Check that you signed in to the EA Account linked to your game and that 2FA is enabled. If a verification email does not arrive, check the right inbox and spam folder, then use EA's resend option. If you cannot sign in or verify ownership and have no saved backup codes, follow EA Account recovery through EA Help. GXDeal cannot recover codes on your behalf.
What if an EA backup code does not work?
First check the account and remove any accidentally copied spaces. A code that has already been used to sign in may not work again. If you can still access Security and Privacy, check the available codes and the option to generate a new set. Otherwise, use EA's account recovery process instead of repeatedly trying the same code.
Why might GXDeal ask for backup codes?
Comfort Trade may require a verification step when the EA Account is accessed to fulfil an order. GXDeal asks for two unused backup codes so another login check does not interrupt delivery. This is a GXDeal order requirement, not an EA requirement for using the Web App. EA advises against sharing login details or verification codes with anyone; giving them to a third-party service carries risk. If you choose to order, only enter codes through the official GXDeal form or a secure support channel linked to your order. Never share your email password.
After delivery, you can change your EA password and refresh your backup codes. If you have not prepared the account yet, follow the account checklist first.
